How can school fees continue if a parent dies?
School-fee continuity can come from life cover, a savings balance, a policy feature that waives future premiums, or a combination. The contract must state what happens if the paying parent dies.
What to check
Check the protected parent, benefit trigger, payout amount, premium-waiver wording, waiting periods, exclusions and whether benefits go to the school, trustee or beneficiary.
What could change the answer
The phrase ‘education continuity insurance’ is not a universal guarantee. Ordinary savings accounts do not continue contributions after a parent dies.
A practical next step
Calculate the remaining education cost, then ask providers to show exactly how their contract funds that gap after a covered event.
