Raymond Obaji Head, Operational Risk & Security

Raymond has a degree (B.A.) in Theatre and Media Arts from the University of Calabar, Advanced Diploma in Security Management and Operations from University of Lagos and holds an Msc in Legal Criminology & Security Psychology from University of Ibadan. He is a Chartered Security Professional (Ch.SP) with more than 18years experience in National / Corporate Security and Enterprise Risk Management. He is a member, ASIS (American Society for Industrial Security), Fellow, NIIS (Nigerian Institute for Industrial Security), a fellow and founding member, ISN (Institute of Security, Nigeria), etc.

His professional history includes Anti-Narcotics Intelligence career with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) where he served in the Nigeria/USA joint task Force among other command positions. At the Corporate security and enterprise risk management level, Raymond worked as Chief Security Officer (CSO) and Security Manager in Lafarge. Raymond was Head of Operations with a leading Private security Company (Cardinal Security, Nigeria) where he successfully developed, implemented and optimized business processes, agreed standards and other deliverables for National/ multinational companies (including Coca-cola International, Total, Ericsson, etc). In response to new business concerns, Raymond’s working experience extended to other West African countries such as Ghana, Senegal, Burkina Faso and Niger Republic.

Based on his understanding and demonstration of the role of security in a complex and challenging business environment, Raymond won the prestigious Security Manager of the Year Award in 2012 by the Nigerian Institute for Industrial Security.
